The collective voice of 37 municipalities including three counties and 750,000 residents, ensures your community’s concerns are heard. The communities we represent vary from populations of 200 to 200,000 from small rural towns to bustling suburbs and urban cites.
ADVOCACY
MWCOG acts as a single point of contact with our legislative leaders, ensuring the issues that matter to your community are heard. Our lobbyists advocate for the region’s issues and provide regular updates from the Capitol. Each year, Metro West coordinates Springfield Drive Down Days exclusively for our member municipalities. This event offers members the opportunity to engage directly with the Governor, legislative leadership and state agency representatives regarding our legislative agenda.
CONNECTION
Membership with MWCOG provides valuable opportunities to connect with vetted Business Partners who specialize in the diverse needs of municipalities. Members have the opportunity to attend four to five informal networking dinners focused on relationship building. Our Legislative Breakfast kicks off the legislative session and the Legislative BBQ offers a review at its conclusion. Members are also invited to enjoy an evening of fun at our Annual Golf Outing. Finally, we celebrate our business partners and municipal members successes at our new MWCOG Awards and Recognition Dinner.
EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
Beyond free resources, membership provides access to research, technical assistance as well as training and leadership development. Members may also poll fellow municipalities to gain insight into neighboring municipal matters and solutions. Additionally, members can participate in Business Partner-hosted field trips to better understand available services and how they can benefit their community.
COMMUNICATION
Communication is key! Our weekly newsletter includes legislative reports from our lobbyists, municipal news, grant opportunities and other timely updates. Members also have the opportunity to post job listings on our website at no cost.
