2026 Legislative BBQ Wrap Up

Last Thursday, over 120 municipal members, business partners, legislators and associates gathered at the Elburn Lions Club for our annual BBQ.

We extend our sincere thanks to Senator Don DeWitte and Senator Linda Holmes for providing a comprehensive overview of the results of Spring Session. The presentation included a review of recently passed legislation as well as key bills still pending, particularly the BUILD Act.

Senator Don DeWitte, who recently announced he will not seek re-election in the 33rd Senate District, was honored for his many years of public service as an alderman, mayor and state senator. A longtime supporter of the Metro West region, Senator DeWitte was recognized by Executive Director Lesli Melendy, for his dedication to local government and steadfast advocacy on behalf of Metro West communities.
