Governor Pritzker Presents FY26 Budget

Executive Director Lesli Melendy was in Springfield last week along with Debby Sosine, President of Metro West and President of Algonquin, and Ryan Kauffman, President of the Village of Oswego, to hear the Governor's budget address. 

We were disappointed to hear that the proposed budget includes cuts to the Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF) and further erosion of local control. 

Metro West Council of Government stands ready to protect our local municipalities from state overreach and looks forward to working with our legislators on common sense solutions that benefit communities in our region.
