The Village of Hinckley Joins MWCOG!

Please join us in welcoming our new municipal member, the Village of Hinckley!

The area was founded in 1853 by John Hinckley, a local landowner and is in Squaw Grove Township of DeKalb County. The village is known for its strong sense of community and rich agricultural history, offering its residents a peaceful small-town atmosphere with the convenience of proximity to larger arterial roadways and nearby shopping hubs.  

In 2027, the village will proudly celebrate its 150th year of incorporation. Additionally, next year marks the 100th anniversary of the famed Harlem Globetrotters’ first road trip game, which took place in Hinckley. We look forward to seeing how these historic milestones are celebrated.

Hinckley is a non-home rule community led by President Sarah Quirk who began her term in 2021. President Quirk along with the Village Clerk, Jennifer Klambauer will attend this week’s Legislative BBQ. Let us introduce you!
