On Friday, October 3rd, Metro West members joined a delegation that included Kane County and surrounding townships on a visit to a Lakeshore Recycling Services exchange facility. Attendees enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the state-of-the-art location where technical innovations such as optical scanners and AI-powered robots were used to efficiently sort recyclables.

Katie Neary of Lakeshore Recycling Services said, “LRS is honored to share our work with Metro West COG partners. We take great pride in being highly awarded, sustainable stewards of the environment throughout the Chicago-metro region. This opportunity to engage municipal leaders and provide greater insight into both recycling and LRS’s role in advancing it is one we deeply value.”
